Work Experience

Project Manager, DENSO IT Laboratory Inc., December 2000 - current

Research and Development of future in-car information system - Designed and implemented prototypes for future in-car information system. In 2003, developed prototype system that extracts text and images, which are related to point of interests from Web, and classify to personal opinion and guidebook-like introductory text using SVM.
Besides the projects for DENSO, developed various prototypes for information exploration systems, and published papers (Ref. Publications section and Honors section).

Development of car navigation software - Worked as a leader of system architecture group. Analyzed function of each software component for car navigation, and defined component interface minimizing the dependencies between them. Worked as a leader of 4-10 engineers in 2000-2002.

Manager, Business Creation Dept., NTT Software Corporation October 1998 - November 2000

Creation of new business scheme
- Worked as a manager for introducing software packages developed by U.S. start up companies to Japanese market. In charged of distribution contract with Kana Communication Inc. (http://www.kana.com) Evaluated product and conducted pre-sales for potential customers.

Engineer-Manager, Air Conditioning Systems Dept., Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. October 1995 - December 1997

Development of HVAC system for General Motors
- Worked as a project manager in development of HVAC(Heater Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and PTC(Power Train Cooling)system for General Motors. Jointly developed HVAC and PTC system for mini-van with GM engineers at Detroit, Michigan in 1997

Engineer, Missile Systems Dept., Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. April 1985 - September 1995

Development of Air Defense Simulation Program - Worked as a leader in development of air defense simulation program for Japan Air Self Defense Forces. Analyzed user requirement, designed whole program structure and wrote program using C++, Motif and Silicon Graphics Graphics Library. Managed five programmers and three specification designers. in 1993-1995

System Study for Air Defense System - Worked as a sub-leader in system study of air defense system for Department of Defense (DOD) and Japan Air Self Defense Forces . Used simulation program to analyze impact of Command Control Communication and Intelligence(C3I) system performance to the performance of whole air defense system. Worked with engineers of U.S. major aerospace companies such as Lockheed, Raytheon and Boeing in 1988-1993

Education
